An initiative born out of friendship & collaboration
Socialite Gives Back was born from a collaboration in our careers in marketing, which bloomed into a friendship over our shared passion for giving back. We aim to spread the joy of giving through our industry and into our communities.
Our first campaign is focused on education and menstrual health for high school girls in Gauteng. No girl should miss school or be denied the dignity of proper sanitation. We are hosting this event to raise funds for our campaign to provide menstrual cups as a sustainable solution to period poverty, in collaboration with The Mina Foundation.

Get to know us...
How did this all begin?
We first met through a social media campaign, and through our shared values sparked a powerful friendship, leading us to team up for a cause close to our hearts.
Estrada has been running sanitary pad drives for the past year through her business, La Bisou Lingerie, and generous donors, supporting young girls at a primary school in Cosmo City, Gauteng. Makayla recently launched Socialite Gives Back, a division of her company, Socialite Digital in effort to give back to the community.
Together, we’re using our marketing skills and networks to make a real, sustainable difference in the lives of young girls - but we can’t do it alone.
What is your first campaign?
We have teamed up with the Gift of the Givers Foundation and The Mina Foundation to put an end to period poverty in the lives of precious young women in Gauteng.
Our mission is clear: We believe education is the foundation for changing lives, and school should be a safe space for every girl. No girl should miss school or be denied the dignity of proper sanitation. Period.
Why have you teamed up with Mina for your first campaign?
Mina is a proudly South African menstrual cup on a mission to end period poverty by providing a sustainable, eco-friendly, safe, and economical solution. She is reusable for up to 10 years with proper care, is so comfortable, and you can even sleep or swim with her.
How do I donate?
You can donate to our Cups for Change initiative here.
When is your next event?
We have an exciting event planned for August 2025. This will be our second event and the funds raised will be put towards our menstrual cup drive for the girls of Cosmo City High School.
